Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited (GESCOM) has taken over the responsibility from KPTCL for the distribution of electricity in 6 districts and commenced its operations from 1st June 2002. In the year 1999, Karnataka embarked on a major reform of the power sector. As a first step, Karnataka Electricity Board (KEB) was dissolved and in its place, the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) was incorporated. This was followed by the constitution of Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) in November 1999.

Junior Station Operator (JSO) : 540 Posts
Junior Line Man (JLM) : 1,300 Posts

Qualification : - For Junior Station Operator (JSO) : Passed SSLC with ITI/ ITC in Electrician Trade for Apprentice (Electrician trade), SSLC with ITI/ ITC certificate in relevant trade.

For Junior Line Man : Passed SSLC/ 10th Std / SSLC / 10th standard pass with ITI.

Age Limit : - 18 to 35 Years.
Age relaxation is as per Karnataka Govt. norms.

Job Location : - Karnataka

Application Fee : - Candidates are to pay Rs 400/- for Junior Line Man & Rs.200/- for Junior Station Operator in respect of belonging to General Category and Category-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB. and Rs 200/- for Junior Line Man & Rs.100/- for Junior Station Operator in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ ST category. Candidates can pay the Application fee by post office payment challan in any computerized Post Office in Karnataka.
