 Himachal Pradesh attained statehood on 25th January, 1971. Prior to this date, the function of Public Service Commission in respect of the civil services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh were being discharged by the Union Public Service Commission under Article 315 of the Constitution of India.

Qualification : -  Post Graduation in concerned subject from a recognized University (with minimum of 50% Marks in aggregate) or its equivalent and Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) as professional qualification from recognized University/ Institutions with minimum 50% marks. OR Two years integrated M.Sc. Ed. Course or an equivalent course from a recognized University.
