The Assam Public Service Commission came into existence on Ist April, 1937 in accordance with the provision of the Govt. of India Act, 1935 with Mr James Hezelett, a retired ICS officer from London, as its first Chairman.

Qualification : - For Junior Engineer :  Passed the 3 (Three) years diploma course in civil engineering from an Institution recognized by AICTE.

For Assistant Manager : Graduation in any branch of engineering or in Arts/Science/ Commerce of a University or any other institution in India or abroad recognized by the Govt. for the purpose with minimum Second class major in any specific subject or distinction in Degree course.

Age Limit : - 21 to 43 Years. As on 03.03.2016.
Age relaxation is as per Assam Govt. norms.
