Meghalaya was formed by carving out two districts from the state of Assam: the United Khasi Hills and Jaintia Hills, and the Garo Hills on 21 January 1972. Before attaining full statehood, Meghalaya was given semi-autonomous status in 1970.

Qualification : - For Unarmed Branch Constable/ Firema Driver FM/ MPRO Operator/ IRBN Signal Operators/ Mechanics : Passed 10+2/ Intermediate from a recognised Board/ Institute.
Armed Branch Constable/ Driver Constables : Passed Class IX/ 9th from a recognised Board/ School.
For Followers : Passed Class V/ 5th Class
For UB SIs/ AB SIs : Graduation in any discipline from a recognised Board/ University or its equivalent qualification.

Age Limit : - For Unarmed Branch Constable/ Firema Driver FM/ MPRO Operator/ IRBN Signal Operators/ Mechanics/ Armed Branch Constable/ Driver Constables : 18 to 21 Years.
For Followers : 18 to 27 Years.
For UB SIs/ AB SIs : 20 to 27 Years. 
Age relaxation is as per Meghalaya Govt. norms.

Application Fee : - Application Fee can be paid Rs. 50 + Rs.30 (Rs.20 for Filling Application Form + Rs.10 for Exam Registration. For more as per ADVt.
Selection Process : - Selection process will be based on Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Written Examination and Interview.
