The Cantonment Board St.Thomas Mount cum Pallavaram established in the year 1774, is

the second oldest Cantonment in the country. It is located 18kms away from the Central Railway Station. The total area of Cantonment is 3192.53 acres. It is basically divided in to three locations namely St.Thomas Mount, Meenambakkam andPallavaram. It comprises of some prominent places like the St.Thomas Mount itself, which is a sacred place of Christians where St.Thomas, who was one the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, who was martyred in this Mount, the Anna International Airport, and the Officers Training Academy, the only Army Training Institution in the country to offer training to Short Service Commission.

Qualification : - For Lower Division Clerk : Passed HSC with typewriting lower grade in English.
For Wireman : SSLC pass/ Fail Successfully completed ITI in the trade of Wireman recognized by the state government.

For Gangman : Passed VIIIth Std. and Experience in gang work i.e. building or earth work is essential.
