The Patna Judgeship appears to have come into existence between 1757-1783, which is evident from the fact that a judgment of the year 1783 is available in the District Judge's Record Room of Patna Judgeship . The index plan is available in the Record Room in this regard. Nalanda (Biharsharif) was Sub-Division under the Patna Judgeship and the same was created a new Judgeship in the year 1978

Qualification : - For Clerk Posts : Graduation i.e. B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. or its equivalent degree from a recognized University/ Institute.

For Stenographer Posts : Graduation i.e. B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. or its equivalent degree from a recognized University/ Institute. AND
Candidates must have knowledge of Stenography in English/ Hindi. The minimum speed in stenography shall be at the rate of 80 words per minute in English and 60 words per minute in Hindi. AND
A certificate in Stenography issued by an institute recognized by Central/State Government is essential. 

For Deposition Writercum-Typist-cum Clerk Posts : Graduation i.e. B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. or its equivalent degree from a recognized University/ Institute. AND
Candidate must have knowledge of Hindi or English Typing. The minimum speed should be 30 words per minute in Hindi and 40 words per minute in English on Computer AND
A certificate in Hindi or English Typing issued by an institute recognized by Central/ State Government is essential.
