The bank came into existence on 12 July 1982 by transferring the agricultural credit functions of RBI and refinance functions of the then Agricultural Refinance and Development Corporation (ARDC).

Qualification : -  For Assistant Managers (Grade ‘A’) Posts : Graduation in any discipline of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Technology, Horticulture with a minimum of 50% marks.

For Manager (Grade ‘B’) Posts : First class Master’s Degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Technology, Horticulture with minimum of 60% marks with relevant experience.

For Manager (Grade ‘B’) Posts : 25 to 35 Years. As on 31.01.2016.
