Rai Bahadur Lala Sohan Lal, the first Chairman of the Bank, founded OBC in 1943 in Lahore. Within four years of its coming into existence, OBC had to face Partition. The bank had to close down its branches in the newly formed Pakistan and shift its registered office from Lahore to Amritsar. Lala Karam Chand Thapar, the then Chairman of the Bank, in a unique gesture honoured the commitments made to the depositors from Pakistan and paid every rupee to its departing customers.

Qualification : - For Senior Manager : Graduation in any stream full time regular course with aggregate 60% marks or its equivalent in CGPA AND Post Graduation full time regular course in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Economics or MBA in Finance/ Banking/ Risk Management or PG Diploma in Finance/Banking/Risk Management) or Engineering with aggregate 60% marks or equivalent in CGPA.

For Manager : Graduation in Computer Science/Information Technology/ Electronics & Telecommunications/Electronics & Communication OR Graduate/Post Graduate preferably with Commerce/Mathematics/Economics background OR Full time Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council OR Passed Final Examination for Chartered Accountants OR Bachelor’s Degree from any University recognized by Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government.

For Security Officer : Graduation from any University recognized by Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government.

For Fire Officer : Graduation from any University recognized by Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government AND Sub-Officer Course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur with minimum of 50% marks.

For Manager : 23 to 35 Years
For Security Officer & Fire Officer : 21 to 35 Years. As on 01.04.2016.
