The Government of Himachal Pradesh in exercise of the powers conferred under article 162 read with proviso of Article 309 of the Constitution of India constituted the H.P. Staff Selection Commission with its headquarters at Hamirpur vide notification No. Per (AP.B) B (1)-1/98 dated 6th October 1998. The commission has been entrusted with the responsibility of making recommendations to all class-III services/posts including such posts on contract basis under the HP Govt. Besides this, the commission has also to make recommendations to all such class-III posts of the state public sector Undertakings, Boards, Corporations, Universities and Local Bodies, etc., as may be entrusted to the Board by such Boards/ Corporations/ Universities and Local Bodies etc.

Qualification : - For TGT : B.Sc (NM/ Medical) with atleast 50% Marks & 1 years Bachelor in Education or Senior Secondary & 4 Year Bachelor in Elementary Education or B.A/B.Com with atleast 50% marks with 1 year Bachelor in Education from an Institute/ University recognized by the Govt.

For Clerks : Passed 10+2 examination/ Intermediate or its equivalent from a recognized board of School education/ university. Posses a minimum speed of 30 w.p.m in English typewriting or 25 w.p.m in Hindi typewriting.
