Till 1965 India’s borders with Pakistan were manned by the State Armed Police Battalion. Pakistan attacked Sardar Post, Chhar Bet and Beria Bet on 9 April, 1965 in Kutch. This exposed the inadequacy of the State Armed Police to cope with armed aggression due to which the Government of India felt the need for a specialized centrally controlled Border Security Force, which would be armed and trained to man the International Border with Pakistan. As a result of the recommendations of the Committee of Secretaries, the Border Security Force came into existence on 01 Dec 1965, and Shri K F Rustamji was the first chief and founding father.

SI (Staff Nurse) : 03 Posts
ASI (Pharmacist-Qualified) : 15 Posts
CT (Masalchi) : 01 Post

Qualification : - For SI (Staff Nurse) : Passed 12th Class or its equivalent with Diploma /Degree in general Nursing Programme and Registration as General Nurse and midwife with Central or State nursing council.

For ASI (Pharmacist-Qualified) : Passed 12th or its equivalent with Diploma in Pharmacy from any recognized institution with internship.

For CT (Mashlchi) : Passed 10th/ Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board with two years working experience in respective trade. and two years/ Diploma from recognized Industrial Training Institute in the relevant trade

For ASI : Maximum 18 to 25 Years.
For CT : Maxumum 18 to 23 Years.
Age relaxation is as per Govt. norms.

Application Fee : - Candidates are to pay Rs. 50/- through Bank Draft / Indian Postal Order in favor of DDO of respective Examination Centers payable at respective branch. 
ST/ ST/ BSF Candidates/ Ex-serviceman/ women are exempted from the payment of fee.
Selection Process : - Selection process will be based on Written Examination, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Practical Test & Medical Examination.
