It was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India [1] and is an institution of design, management and technology for the international fashion business. NIFT was granted statutory status in 2006, empowering it to award degrees and other academic distinctions.

Qualification : - For Junior Assistant : Passed 10 +2 examination or its equivalent from a Board/ Institute recognized by the Govt with Diploma / Certificate in Computer Applications Operations latest software i.e. MS Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint) AND Have a speed of 30 wpm in English/Hindi typing. 

For Lab Assistant : Full Time Diploma in fitter Trade from ITI/ Mechanical Engineering from any recognized institute or its equivalent.

Selection Process : - Selection process will be based on Written Examination and Skill Test.
