At the time of its commissioning in 1888, the Mormugao Port comprised of 3 berths along with a breakwater having a length of 358 meters. As the years rolled by, the infrastructure slowly kept growing. By 1922, Berths 4 and 5 were built and the breakwater was extended to its present length of 522.40 meters. A mole of 270 meters was added.

Qualification : - For Trade Apprentices Posts : Passed 8th class /Passed 10th/12th class under 10+2 system education or equivalent with ITI in relevant Trade with 60% marks for General & 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.

For Engineering Apprentices Posts : Degree/ Diploma in respective branch of Engineering from recognized University/ Institution with 60% marks for General & 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.

For Engineering/Diploma Apprentices Posts : 25 Years. As on 01.10.2016.
