Junior public service commission, the precursor of the Punjab Public Service Commission(PPSC), with its writ running from the Khyber pas to the Jamuna near Delhi, was born at Lahore on May, 1937. In the wake of the partition, the Punjab public service commission resurged in February, 1948, at Shimla with its revised jurisdiction extending over the then Provence of east Punjab following the merger of the state of Punjab and Pepsu.

Qualification : - Graduation or its equivalent in any stream with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institution OR 
Graduation Degree with 60% marks in any stream. Passed a Computer course of at least one hundred and twenty hours with hands on experience in the use of Personal Computer or Information Technology.

Application Fee : - Candidates belonging to SC/ST Category of all States and Backward Classes of Punjab State only are to pay Rs. 1125/-, 
For Ex-Servicemen of Punjab state are to pay Rs. 500/-  
For PWD Punjab State are to pay Rs. 1750/-  & 
Rs. 3000/- for all other categories through the System Generated Challan Form.
Selection Process : - Selection process will be based on Competitive Examination & Interview.
