Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are a system of alternate schools for gifted students in India. They are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Government of India. JNVs are fully residential and co-educational schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, with classes from VI to XII standard.

TGT (Third Language Teachers) : 235 Posts

Qualification : - For Assistant Commissioner : Master’s Degree in Humanities/Science/ Commerce from a recognized institution/University and Persons holding analogous posts or post of Principal.

For Principal : Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks with B.Ed. or equivalent teaching degree and Persons working in any of the Govt./Semi Govt./ Govt. Recognized/CBSE affiliated Sr. Secondary (10+2) schools/Inter college.

For Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) : Two Year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course from Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate. OR Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject and B.Ed. or equivalent qualification from a recognized University for all the above PGT posts except Information & Technology.

For Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) : Four years integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject as well as in the aggregate. OR A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized University with 50% marks or above in aggregate as well as in the concerned subject and B.Ed. or equivalent from a recognized University and Should pass Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by CBSE

For Miscellaneous Categories Teachers : University degree in Library Science from a recognized institution OR Graduation with One-year Diploma in Library Science from a recognized Institution OR Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from a recognized institution. OR D.P.Ed. from a recognized university/Institution.

For TGT (Third Language Teachers) : Four years integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject as well as in the aggregate OR A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized University with 50% marks or above in aggregate as well as in the concerned regional language as an elective subject at degree level and B.Ed. or equivalent from a recognized University and Should pass Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by CBSE.

Age Limit : - For Assistant Commissioner : Maximum 45 Years
For Principal : 35 to 45 Years
For Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) : Maximum 40 Years
For All Others Posts : Maximum 35 Years As on 31.07.2016.
