Dr. Bhabha approached Sir Dorabji Tata Trust for starting nuclear research in India leading to the establishment of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, which was inaugurated on December 19, 1945. Atomic Energy Act was passed on April 15,1948 and Atomic Energy Commission was constituted on August 10, 1948.

Qualification : - For Stipendiary Trainees : Passed HSC in Science stream (with Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects) with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate or SSC (with Science and Maths) with a minimum 60 % marks in aggregate PLUS trade certificate in relevant Discipline
For Upper Division Clerk/UDC : Graduation in Arts, Science or Commerce of a recognized university or equivalent with an aggregate of 50% marks.
For Technician : Passed SSC + First Class Boiler Attendant’s Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.

Age Limit : - For Stipendiary Trainees : 18 to 22 Years
For Upper Division Clerk : 18 to 27 Years
For Technician : 18 to 25 Years. As on 13.12.2016.
Age relaxation is as per Govt. norms.
