Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited (GESCOM) has taken over the responsibility from KPTCL for the distribution of electricity in 6 districts and commenced its operations from 1st June 2002. In the year 1999, Karnataka embarked on a major reform of the power sector. As a first step, Karnataka Electricity Board (KEB) was dissolved and in its place, the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) was incorporated. This was followed by the constitution of Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) in November 1999.

Qualification : - For Assistant Executive Engineer : Possess acquired B.E/ B.Tech in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

For Assistant Engineer : B.E of a recognized University or AMIE (India) qualification in Electrical and Electrical & Electronics.

For Assistant Accounts Officer : M.Com or MBA (Finance). all others posts qualification as per official Notification.

Age Limit : - For General Merit : 18 to 35 Years
For category IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB candidates : 18 to 38 Years
For SC/ ST & category I candidates : 18 to 40 Years
